Morgan drifted through the darkness of his mind. Not being able to see, not being able to speak, but still listening. He heard bits and fragments of conversation. Malizar talking to him. Nina talking to Malizar. Other voices as well. Morgan only knew two.
Morgan felt his body flop down onto something soft. He tried to open his eyes, but each weighed far more than they should. Trying to move produced similar results. He tried to force his eyes open a crack, and was rewarded with a feeling of slipping away into unconsciousness.
He felt the darkness come onto him. He welcomed the escape

James was in his own world, for the time being.
A world of his past. A replay of it, in fact. James was starving. On the edge of death. He had been wandering the desert for nearly a month. Drinking what little water he could find in cactuses, and eating what small unfortunate creatures he could catch. Eating raw meat was disgusting, and usually made him sick, but that’s what he was forced to do.
Every little ball of tumbleweed he could find, he collected in preparation for the night. The long freezing nights.
